Ashlen Moss, M.A. is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Florida. She sees clients in the Central Florida area in person and from different parts of the state virtually. She is passionate about creating a safe place for clients to be honest about life's difficulties. People may feel confused by their behaviors or distressed by their current emotional realities. Ashlen meets them with curiosity, helping them understand what has led them to where they are and where to go next.
Ashlen received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Child and Family Studies with a Community Outreach concentration from the University of Tennessee – Knoxville. Afterwards, Ashlen received her Master of Arts in Counseling at Reformed Theological Seminary – Orlando.
Ashlen works with children, adolescents, and adults through a client-centered and integrative approach. After years of working as a school-based therapist, Ashlen believes that working collaboratively with other providers can be very integral and create a more holistic approach to a client's care.
Ashlen's specialties include chronic illness, relational struggles, family dysfunction, grief, adoption, ministry burnout, life transitions, anxiety, and depression. Ashlen is a Christian and offers that perspective to others who desire that in their counseling journey. That being said, she welcomes clients from all faith and religious backgrounds.
"We can experience both deep
hurt and deep healing in relationships. I would
be honored to work with you in your mental health journey." - Ashlen
SERVICES
INDIVIDUALS
This one-on-one therapeutic process is for each client’s individual goals. Ashlen takes into consideration which therapeutic technique works best with what each client is hoping to get out of the counseling process. Her main specialties are chronic illness, relational struggles, family dysfunction, grief, adoption, ministry burnout, life transitions, anxiety, and depression.
ADOLESCENTS
Adolescence can be a challenging time for both teenagers and parents. It is common to see parents confused about their child's behaviors. Ashlen comes alongside adolescents to help them learn to express their emotions and experiences in healthy ways. She meets them where they are and offers them a safe place to explore their inner world.
CHILDREN
Ashlen works with children ages 7 and up. Because children's brains are not fully developed, expressing their experiences with words can be limited. Because of this, Ashlen uses play therapy techniques, knowing that play is a child's main way to communicate. She sees children open up in new ways through toys, games, and art.
